A very comfortable bed-and-breakfast in a beautiful location on the outskirts of one of New Zealand's oldest towns. The host had an excellent suggestion for dinner (Grahamstown Bar & Diner) and some good ideas for our drive around the Coromandel peninsula, and he produced a delicious breakfast.

Exquisite hospitality, great accommodation

Aldo,  Washington, February 2017
We booked this property in Thames on our way to visit the Coromandel peninsula. Our stay was great, as the room was comfortable, with many extra touches that added pleasure to the stay. In the morning we were surprised even more, as the breakfast offered was a gourmet meal that included mostly home-made items. The quality and presentation was at par with fancy Parisian restaurants and cafe's.
We recommend this property without any hesitation.

The hosts were very attentive and pleasant. We did have a very pleasant stay.

Outstanding B&B
Adrienne and Garth are wonderful hosts. They offer great local touring advice and provide an amazing hot breakfast. Their immaculate home's elevated location overlooking the countryside is delightful. An outstanding accommodation.

Our stay here was awesome! They were very accommodating to us coming in late. They were friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations of where to eat in town and even letting us borrow their spade for Hot Water Beach. The room was very nice, and most importantly clean. Also, breakfast was delicious :-) We loved our stay here and we would definitely recommend this!

High point of our New Zealand Tour

Garth and Adrienne made us feel so welcome it was like a home from home. Our room, Neatherwood Suite, was better than many of the top class hotels we stayed in during our recent tour of New Zealand. It had the added advantage of the personal touch brought by our charming hosts.
Breakfasts were a delight and the help and advice on local amenities was excellent. They even gave us a spade and towels for our visit to Hot Water Beach!
We cannot praise this wonderful sanctuary highly enough. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

The best accommodation I had ever stayed at.
It is such a beautiful house/cottage. The view was breathtaking. The owners, Adrienne and Garth are lovely. They were happy to recommend us where to eat, where to go and which roads to take. The cottage has patio where you can sit outside, also chairs on the grasses to enjoy the view. The room was feeling homely, very clean and yet very elegant. They have a spa behind the cottage. They also lend us towels to go to the beach and the spa. Very impressed with the service and the place.
Everything. The view, the garden, the spa, the room, the patio, the cats, communal fridge. Adrienne's and Garth's hospitality.
I guess the only thing I would love is a menu card so we know what breakfast we can order and as a late riser, for the breakfast time not to be so ear
There is a river across the cottage and someone said you can borrow the canoes from Garth and Adrienne although we did not do that.

The BEST B&B We Stayed In The Whole Trip
My husband and I stayed in 7 different B&Bs throughout our trip in NZ and this was hands down the best, for a few very specific reasons:

- Professionalism: There are a lot of B&Bs in New Zealand where you literally just feel like you're crashing in someone's house, making things awkward. Cotswold, on the other hand, has:
- Clear signage and directions
- A designated reception area
- A beautiful guest lounge
- Separate rooms with completely independent entrances. No feeling like you have to sneak around to go out to your car at night, no feeling like you don't know the boundaries between your space and the owners'.

- Cleanliness: Again, B&Bs can feel iffy, but this place is immaculate, from the towels to the bedding, to the grounds.

- Payment: They take credit cards AND give receipts.

- Helpfulness: The owners are so fantastic. They immediately offer to help you find things in the area and they give real recommendations. For instance, I can't tell you how many times I've asked a B&B owner for a restaurant recommendation nearby and they just say "everything's good," but here they're real people with real recommendations and opinions, if you want them. As a bonus, they're fantastic chefs and prepared one of the most delicious breakfasts we've had on the whole trip in the morning.

Everyone should stay here and other B&B owners should seriously take notes.

Peaceful Retreat
Cotswold Cottage is the perfect setting for a weekend getaway. We stayed two nights and were very happy with the service. The views are stunning and though it's located close to town it felt a world away. I loved the huge bed and the spa bath in the bathroom is the best I've ever used. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts were very helpful and friendly. We'll be back.

Perfect getaway spot
Clean, spacious and elegant room with a beautiful view overlooking the river and beyond. Our host was both courteous and friendly and offered information on local attractions that we may be interested in visiting.
We had a most delicious three course meal on our first evening, cooked by our host. It was quiet and romantic - something we hadn't enjoyed in years!
We would recommend Cotswold Cottage as an ideal destination to anyone visiting the Thames area.

Lovely place for a night away
This historical home is located in a picturesque natural setting on a bend of the Kauraeranga River. The rooms are small, yet with stylish decor and serviced with a high level of cleanliness. Garth and Adrienne are friendly and professional hosts. Breakfast is served in the villa dining room and is superbly presented. This cottage is a lovely spot from which to explore Thames, and from which to enjoy the slower pace of life offered by this region.

The local is slightly elevated and has a nice view. The garden invites you to relax. The room was clean and we liked it very much. The friendly, helpful hosts presented a plentiful and delicious breakfast. Further, they supported us for the daily tour planning. It was a pitty that we planned our stay for 2 days only.

Very pleasant place
This is a very nice B&B run by pleasant people! The couple that operate it are interested in their guests enjoying all that the Coromandel has to offer. The breakfast was pleantiful and delicious I'd certainly stay there again.

Home away from home!
Beautiful setting, delicious and generous breakfast! Very helpful hosts with good recommendations for dinner and travel advice. They even checked the road conditions for our trip as some roads had been washed out and gave us a map to follow. The rooms were super comfy and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub too!

Gateway to the Coromandel
A lovely stay with superb hosts on elevated and sunny north facing site. A good springboard for exploring the Coromandel Peninsula. Our room very comfortable with views over the racecourse. Would stay here again.

Beautiful B&B
We have stayed here several times and enjoy it each time. There are three different rooms so it is nice to go back and sample what each different room has to offer. Quiet and beautiful location. We were there during a cyclone and the hosts were so helpful in finding out about road conditions etc. Lovely cozy place.

Picture perfect B and B with very high standards in every way.
Although we ate well on the two evenings we were there, there was a limited choice of restaurants in Thames.
Very comfortable and attractively appointed bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, generous and beautifully presented. We enjoyed sitting on the lawn looking at the peaceful view. Our hosts were friendly, and super helpful,a mine of detailed information on what to do and where to go.

It was a perfect weekend getaway.

If you have the chance, stay here!
The owners were delightful. Their attention to detail was refreshing. These folks take pride in what they do and do it well. Breakfast was above and beyond. Delicious, nutritious food. The property is located along a stream overlooking a local racing track. I wanted to be able to sit and take in the surroundings but alas, it was raining while we were there.

Excellent hospitality, beautiful surroundings, comfortable and very clean.
The hostpitality was excellent and we were treated like family. The rooms were very comfortable, well equipped and extremely clean. We travelled a lot in 2016 and this was by far the best experience we had in a hotel. The decor was homely, yet the level of comfort was what you would expect from a five star hotel. I would recommend this to anyone who would like a true kiwi experience and who is looking to wind down away from the main touristy areas.

Old world charm and hopitialiy is very much alive and in vogue.
Wanted to stay longer but we had to go home sadly.
Loved the place. Really comfortable and has a really warm vibe too. Adrienne makes the conserves from their own fruit trees. Superb and passionate hosts. Will be back for sure! Peter & Leah.

Exceptional
The siting of this home is beautiful, lovely views over the countryside and river and perfectly placed for sun. Our room was perfect, loved the deck with table and chairs. The breakfast was great, selection excellent- they even went to trouble to provide gluten free bread, eggs superb. The hosts were delightful, we would certainly return.

The Cotswold B&B is quality!
This was our second stay, as we had done so some years ago with relations. "The croissants were excellent." The hosts, Garth & Adrienne, were so very hospitable! The bed room was excellent, clean, and the queen bed covered with quality linen. From the bedroom we enjoyed the view toward the Thames town and the hills. The dining room was furnished very tastefully where we enjoyed the splendid breakfast. Memories flooded back, as we had visited Thames on other occasions for family reasons.

Memorable stay
I had a beautiful and memorable stay at Cotswold Cottage. It was a home away from home on my work trip- However I can imagine coming back for a romantic weekend or family getaway. The bed was so comfortable and hosts so kind, I felt well rested and relaxed. Ideal location and stunning views of the river, mountains and Thames. Highly recommended.

Perfect spot for cotswold holiday
Very helpful owners really made the difference with the morning tips and ideas for the day really helped us make the most of the few days we had in the area. bed great, breakfast great, room was large enough and nice common area if more space needed with large well maintained grounds. When you drive in there is a sign on the main road to help locate. Street is nothing flash but you go out the end and up a hill and you sit above the rest of the area and have lovely views of the show grounds and the town. Thames is great spot for winter holiday as it has perfect access to whole region but don't have to dive windy roads with the chance of slips all the time to get in or out of area.
Bed and Breakfast and the owners were all fantastic in very quiet area which is what you want. Sits up nice an high so it feels isolated.
From thames its an hour to everything in the region so day trips are easy and enjoyable. walking at the george or travel on the train up the mountain.
Just the best location for exploring the Coromandel area. Our host Garth & Adrienne are just what you would hope for at a B&B, naturally friendly and so helpful with suggestions of things to do and see. Made you feel comfortable from the moment you met and till the end of your stay. Breakfast was always first class be it cooked or just fruit and cereal. Comfy bed made us feel right at home. Highly recommended and can't wait to have a return visit.
The hosts and their music selection playing in the background at breakfast.
Nothing that stood out.
Located very close to Thames it was close to a great selection of walks, bike rides & the local restaurants.

Peaceful with a View
Lovely couple running the B&B, very informative and welcoming. Extremely well catered for and nothing was a problem. AS our first stay at a B&B any other will be a hard act to follow.

Great B&B
Best B&B on our NZ north island trip. Great way to spend the last 2 days. Hosts provided excellent local information as well as meeting our needs and making us feel at home. Went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Would definitely go back and use the B&B as a hub for day trips.

Nicest couple hosting the nicest B&B in all of NZ
The hosts, Adrienne and Garth, were SO nice and friendly and helpful. Seriously, nicer than most of our family. They gave us directions and suggestions and were so accommodating. They gave us beach towels and shovel to use at the beach, a coupon for a local restaurant, great directions and really were experts on everything on Coromandel Peninsula. You would be crazy to stay anywhere else, in my opinion!
